in the blood

Kurtis loves all forms of sports.
He can't wait for Caleb to play football.
He can't wait for Caleb to play soccer.
He can't wait for Caleb to play basketball.
and
He can't wait for another season of baseball.
and
He can't wait for another son so that he can participate in every sport on the planet!

Thankfully Caleb loves all sports, and I was told that, "no matter what the money, sign the boy up!" So that's what I am doing. So beware of sport picture overload!

deep fried twinkies, foot long hot dogs, and potato chips

10 pounds + 4 pounds + 2 pounds = 16 pounds of fun filled Fair time!!!

Can you believe that it is already that time of the year?? This year has flown by so fast!

We went with a few of our friends to the fair to see the animals and eat some of that good ol' fair food! Yum!

"Mom, look I have a bunny nose!"

Hannah and Ellie thought that some animals were really smelly. So they insisted on plugging their noses, even for the picture!

No love like daddy's love

Kurtis has been gone a lot lately and the kids have missed him being around. I just love this picture of Hannah all cuddled up to her daddy.

There is nothing like a spakin' new hair cut!

Hair cut time is not my favorite, but it is to my kids. They know that a hair cut means movie time, pink/green hair and a lolly pop - Caleb: green on both hair and lolly pop - Hannah: pink on both hair and lolly pop.

Green/pink hair you ask.....

Well, we have this great new kids hair cutting place here called Little Dudes & Divas. They are AWESOME! You kids get to pick out a movie to watch while getting their hair cut (which means no wiggles, just giggles) (come on people I had to say it!) And after the cut they get to choose a color to have sprayed into their hair! Plus the added bonus of a lolly pop!

How could you go wrong I ask you??!!

To say the least my kids loves every second of it. So there you have it.

Here is Caleb BEFORE

Here is Caleb AFTER

(Now if you look closely you can see what Caleb will look like when he is 17! Wowzzer! I almost broke down into tears when I looked at this picture! He is getting so old!!)

Caleb also lost his first tooth!! Yeah!! We actually never pulled it out or even got to hold and admire the tiny thing because we. or should I say he, does not know what happened to it! He did not even notice it was missing until that night I looked at him and told him his tooth was missing! Silly boy! I suppose it fell out in the grass at a park and will never be found.

Caleb did leave a note under his pillow that night which read:
Dear Tooth Fairy,
I am sorry.
I lost my tooth in the grass.
-Caleb

Well you know that silly tooth fairy never came! Can you believe it!! She must have flow right by..... but no worries I told Caleb that when I was little the tooth fairy sometimes forgot to come to my house. Hopefully she will come tomorrow. Cross your fingers she remembers!

Well she did and all is well in the Reed household! :) And Caleb has a crisp new one dollar bill to prove it!

Moving on...

as happy as a fly on a cowpie

That's what I am.

Summer is here. It's time for sweaty armpits, water up your nose, fire smelling clothes and picking grass off your buttered corn.

I love summer.

Because I get to see a lot more of this....and this.

And I get to have friends that have kids who look like this.

And babies get to go without these and get feet that look like this.

Best friends get to wear matching these.

and we get to do a bit more of this.

And then I get to show all you good people. Isn't summer is sweet!

Sneak Peek

Little Miss Cameron was so sweet and loved her momma! It took a while for her to relax and get comfortable, but when she did she really opened up. She was a fun little one year old who kept me on my toes!!

DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME!!

Yes, you heard me correctly.......my room......what can I say?! I had this idea for eons and always said when we move I am going to paint giant squares on my wall. Well if I new then what I know now I would have never done it! Yes, yes, know it is SO cute and I am glad that I did it, but even more glad that I am done!!! It was way harder that it looks. BUT if you don't believe me and want to do this I will tell you how I did it, even though Kurtis said (after it was done) "You did it the hard way." Me: "Thanks hun, would have been nice for you to tell me BEFORE I spent 2 days painting it!!"

Step 1: Draw on paper what you want it to look like. (You don't have to do 6 giant squares like me.)

Step 2: Calculate....if you are not good at math like me you can barrow my 6 year old! :) Measure where you want your squares to start and end, INCLUDING the frame around each square.

Step 3: Tape out your section of your wall that you are going to paint( including your outside boarder). So it looks like one big square. Paint it your frame/boarder color(the whole thing) Mine was a cream color.

Step 4: Re-tape your big square just inside your boarder so that you will still have one when you are done!

Step 5: Tape your squares. Now here is your hard part. It is very difficult to get your tape straight. This is the step that took me FOREVER!!! Come to find out you can use a Lazar level to tape it straight. Don't know how much they cost but I think that it would be worth it!

Step 6: Paint your square color.

Step 7: Take your tape off before your paint is almost dry.

Step 8: Go to bed, because you have been up for 2 days straight waiting for paint to dry, washing paint brushes out, taping and re-taping and then re-taping again because it was not straight, and yelling at your kids because they just leaned up against the wet wall. Sounds fun doesn't it!!! What is even more fun is that your room is the 3rd room that you have painted in the last week!

This is the kids bathroom, nothing really special about it. I just LOVE the shower curtain that I found at TJ Maxx.

Caleb's Bedroom
I painted the walls a light gray green and found him this awesome bedspread at Kohls. Those of you who have bigger boys with a queen size bed, know how stinkin' hard it is to find one that does not look like a girls and that is not a solid color. Still need to hang curtains and a few more pictures!

Hannah's Bedroom
I painted it a strawberry milkshake pink. Why call it that.....well the whole time I was painting I was craving a strawberry milkshake! Yummy!! (Kurtis did get me one when I was done!!) Her bedspread was made by a friend of mine here in Rochester! If you want one like it I will give you her number! I still need to hang curtains (which cost an arm and a leg!!).

I also just painted my kitchen RED and it looks SOOOOO GOOD!!! I just love it!! I still need to take a picture of it. Will do it soon!! Also I have not finished decorating my basement, but when I do, will post some pics up!!

This is why

My mom is trying to decide what picture to send into the fair photo contest. Her and I have always been on the same page when it comes to what we like and what we don't like to do. So it always makes it fun to learn together. She took the pictures and I edited for her. It was a fun combined effort! Please vote on which picture you think would win the big blue ribbon!
